Personality

Dad: You love taking in everything you can.  One of the reasons you don't like to sleep in my opinion is that you don't want to miss anything.  Since day one you have been lifting your head.  As your neck gets stronger and stronger you seem to want to look around even more.  We can not hold you or put you down without you careening your head up, down, left and right trying to see everything around you.

You love TV and Christmas lights.  When we bring you anywhere near a TV you are drawn to the moving pictures and sound and totally mesmerized.

Both your mom and I love our TV and movies, so we will all definitely get along :)  Since it is Christmas time, we have the place decorated with lights everywhere and even when you are crying you seem to stop for a little bit to take in the lights and ornaments hanging from the Christmas tree.  I just can't wait for you to help us decorate the tree in the future.

I'm not sure at what point babies actually start to smile because they are happy, but I think you are almost, if not already, there.  Your smile is amazing.  You have had it since you came home, often times displaying it when you let out a little gas.  But nowadays you seem to actually notice a funny face I make or a funny noise you hear and you let out the biggest smile.  It is one of my favorite things to see.

You like to make a lot of noises recently with your mouth and mom and I try to talk back to you.  You definitely have moments of excitement and can't keep your mouth shut.  I love it and can't wait to actually be able to understand you and what you are thinking.

Finally, you are very active.  You don't ever seem to stop moving little one.  Even in your sleep you are constantly dreaming about something and flailing around.  You swing your arms, kicks your legs and turn your head no matter where you are or if you are being held or not.  Mom and I think that it is because she was so active during her pregnancy.  Regardless, it is nice to know that you may grow up being active...I just hope you are not as accident prone as I am!

Mom: Boy, you have some personality kid, and more and more of it comes out each day. You are starting to be more verbal each day, cooing and gurgling and although I know you don't know what you are doing or saying necessarily, I feel like you are talking to us or trying to tell us something. Some of the faces you make are hilarious and I am still trying to figure out what exactly they mean, I think the only one we really understand is the "I just filled my diaper" face. Either way, I have the best time just looking at you and watching your face change when I talk to you or kiss you. You are also very very active, I like to think its because I was fairly active during my pregnancy. You move ALL the time, when you are sleeping, when you are eating, when you are being held, when you are sitting in your swing, when you are being changed, ALWAYS!

Right when you wake up, you move in the form of stretching. You stretch like an adult, it cracks me up, you look like your daddy when he wakes up with all the stretching, back arching etc.

I LOVE it! And I LOVE that tomorrow you will probably do something else that will show that amazing personality that I can't get enough of.
