The title of this post is a homage to your good friend Matt Thompson.  Thompson and I have been friends for twenty years now and over that time we have shared many stories with each other.  I will tell you what this title means as you grow older...just remind me about "Thompson's parents getting ready for a trip."

Today was a strange day for us.  I had a lot of work to do and your mom spent all day packing.  Our home that you were conceived but will never know, is starting to look very bare.  It is really starting to hit me that we are going to leave the place that we spent 25% of our life in.  It is really sad actually.

Even though mom has been feeling tired more and more she still keeps moving.  I hope that you have her fervor when it come to accomplishing things.  Sitting still is not her strong suit...and somehow I think you will inherent that making you a bit hard to deal with as you grow.  Only time will tell :)
