So mom and I decided last weekend that we needed to do something about our backyard. We took a lot of pictures of the before, during and after process of redoing it, however I think the she may post something in a few days with pictures so I won't bore you with a detailed description.
Basically, we moved in and had a backyard full of rocks and wild "animal plants." We removed everything and started with a fresh palette last weekend. Today, both Grandpa Tom and Pops helped me and Uncle Brent totally transform the new yard. We carted off all of the old rocks and brought in a bunch of new soil and grass. After almost 6 hours of work, we had a backyard full of new beautiful grass.
I learned a lot during the process and both mom and I think that it looks amazing. We could not have done it without everyone's help. It was a true testament to teamwork and how much both mom's and my parents care about us. It was a truly amazing what we accomplished and I can't wait for you to grow up learning to walk and play in the new backyard.
Mom finished up making the kitchen look so much more inviting and usable as well. We know we have a lot more work to do, but after today I feel a great level of satisfaction.
I can not tell you how important family is in your life. I was somewhat of a pain in the butt in the morning and although I know I frustrated my dad, he put up with me. I hope that I can have the same patience with you that he shows with me. I have so much to learn still, but I am confident that as long as I remember days like today, I will also give you the benefit of the doubt. Because, after all, you already mean the world to me...the same way that me and your mom mean the world to our parents.
I love you little one.
Dad.
