Hey little girl. Over the last few weeks you have been getting a lot of gifts from different family members and friends including dresses, dolls, diapers, play-things, etc. At this point your mom and I have not had a chance to get you anything on our own. In fact, at this rate, we'll not have to buy you anything until you want that car at the age of 16 :)
I decided to get you your first stuffed animal the other day and it finally arrived. It is one of four stuffed animals that I bought and it is meant to protect you from any monsters that may be hiding under your bed or in the closet. I'm not sure if or when you will be scared of monsters, but I am just getting a jump-start on it.
Her name is Courageous Carrie and she is pink with a long tail and has only one eye, but she can see everything to help to protect you. The funny thing is that while you may get a million pink outfits, pink dolls and other "girly" things I hope that you do not grow up to be a "girly girl." You mom bites her nails, hates high heels, wears very little makeup and owns less than a handful of dresses, yet she looks beautiful all the time.
I am looking forward to the future with you while you figure out who you are. I hope you love Barbie as much as you love your monster dolls. I hope you love tea parties as much as you love playing cops and robbers. I hope you learn to embrace your childhood early and enjoy every moment of it as you grow.
You are already so special to both me and your Mom. I can't wait to meet you.
Love,
Dad.
