I am sometimes unsure I should split up posts when I have two completely different things to tell you, but I decided it would just be easier to put everything together when it all happened in the same day or two.
- When I opened the door yesterday I found a package laying on the ground. Since it was just recently Christmas and I ordered about 20 things from websites online, I figured it was just something that was arriving late. When I picked up the package, I was amazed to see that it was not for me...nor your Mom. It was addressed to you YOU!
That is your first piece of mail! It was sent by one of my best friends since High School and my college roommate Adam Reese. When we opened the package there was a note wishing the "Namejko's Happy Baby" and a small stuffed UVA monkey and a UVA T-Shirt.
I don't think he realizes how cool it was that he sent it. As it turns out, it was not only your first piece of mail, but also your first UVA-themed presents. You have done pretty well in the Steelers category, but someone finally remember that your Mom and I met at UVA. We were both very pleased with the thoughtful gift.
- On a completely separate note, I just wanted to tell you again about how much you are changing on a daily basis. The last two days you have definitely been much more interested in looking at moving things. You have started to fixate on a little screen that Uncle Brent bought you that sits in your crib as well as my iPad when I put on a program that shows a bunch of random black, white and red pictures. You are mesmerized by what you see. I can't wait to start to teach you what all of those pictures are called and, even more so, I can't wait for you to be able to tell me what they are back.
I love you little one,
Dad.
