Hey little one. It has been a while since we have had a chance to talk. I promise that I have not been neglecting you. Your mom has had a chance to really catch you up on her point of view and I did not want to overwhelm you with my boring stories that don't have any pictures like her's do. Also, I was waiting to find out if you were a boy or a girl. At this point, we think we know (maybe) but will hopefully find out in 4 days for sure. After that, we are going to surprise everyone at our Annual Christmas in July Family Reunion at Jane and Pop's house next weekend.
Your Grandpa Tom does not want to know if you are a boy or girl so he will definitely have to stop reading this until you are born once next weekend comes. I can't wait to talk to you about baseball bats or dresses! :)
Just to add something fun, I thought I would let you know that the last week has been crazy it comes to weather. Normally, in life, you will say two things to people you don't have much to talk about:
- How ya doing? (and don't really care what the answer is)
- This weather is [insert adjective here] (crazy, cold, hot, ridiculous, etc.)
I promise you that I am not talking about the weather because I don't have a lot to say to you. Rather, this last week brought forth a huge storm last Friday that knocked the power out all across the area. Luckily, your mom and I were only in the dark for a day. Grandpa Tom and Judy were ok after 2 days. Pops and Jane were out for almost 4 days!
Needless to say, your house with power became a place for my parents to camp out and cool off. Jane helped out a bunch by painting the bathroom where you will be getting your baths and learning to use the potty. So I hope you like the color :)
The temperature has been very hot now all week. We had Wednesday off of work for the 4th of July and mom took that time to work on starting a little garden area in the backyard.
Of course, I got mad she was out in the 100 degree heat. You were not happy either I don't think, because since Wednesday you have had a field day inside her tummy. Mommy has said that you have been kicking and punching her multiple times a day. She loves it and has tried to describe what it feels like to me, but I don't think I will every understand. I can't wait to feel you while touching her tummy.
I love you so much already. I leave you with this picture of a squirrel that also realized how hot it was outside.
Dad.
