The title of this post is the name of the company that mom works for right now...FrontPoint Security. I'm saying that now so that it not only makes sense to you, but it also makes sense to me many years down the road :)
Mom finally told everyone at work today that she is pregnant. It has been eating her up inside not to tell people. That is for two main reasons:
- She is eating differently and getting a little moody during the day and wanted so badly for people to understand why.
- She has felt very "fat" this week and didn't want people to think she was spending too many nights eating fast food.
About #2...mom has decided that she is not pregnant...she is just getting fat. I can understand what she means in that she still does not look pregnant. She doesn't have a nice, big, round tummy at the moment. She is simply gaining a few pounds (she'll yell at me if I don't correct that and say that it is really only 1.5 pounds). The point is that she waiting for her stomach to "pop." That is the word they use as you start to get bigger. Once you hit a certain point you literally "pop" out from your hiding place deep inside her and announce your presence.
I think she is being a little crazy and told her to enjoy it, but she simply can't yet. She still goes to boot camp and we try to walk together as much as possible to get exercise, but I think that she just doesn't know what it is like to gain weight. Mom has always been able to eat and drink whatever she wants and, as long as she kept active, she has always looked and felt great. Right now, she still looks great but doesn't feel great. That is why she has been so self conscious. So I guess this is the first time in your life we are all ready blaming you for something!
Back to her telling people in the office...
Everyone was obviously thrilled to hear it and she is the first employee in the company to be pregnant while working there. Technically other people have had babies, but there are less than a dozen women working there, and she is the first female that is actually pregnant in the office. That is exciting for her boss and some of the other "head people" over there. So yea!
