Last week was...interesting.\r\n\r\nI have been working really hard at work planning for a big event that was on Wednesday night, and OF COURSE I start feeling something coming on on Tuesday while at work. I wake up on Wednesday morning and I feel like a truck hit me. I power through the day on Wednesday, and have to wake up and be at work on Thursday morning for an important meeting, so by the time I get home on Thursday afternoon, I am exhausted. Daddy left that morning for a bachelor party in Charleston, SC. Julianne was coming in to town on Friday afternoon, so I plan to "work from home" on Friday to prep for her visit (everyone is coming over for dinner that night), as well as give myself a little time to "recuperate." Nanny takes you to her house for the morning and plans to have you back before nap time. When she got here to pick you up, I told her you were a little "off" that morning, you weren\'t really hungry and you seemed a little "cranky." (I prayed I hadn\'t gotten you sick, especially right before Julianne gets here). Nanny brings you back around noon and agrees, you weren\'t quite yourself, you seemed really tired, and oddly you were scratching your feet like crazy. You went down easily for a nap and slept for almost 2.5 hours.\r\n\r\nOnce you woke up and everyone got there, I could tell you weren\'t quite yourself, but you were a trooper and made everyone feel special (especially Julianne, you liked her immediately) by showing off all your toys, and giving hugs. But by the end of the night, we could all tell you were sick.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nThe fact that you were itching your feet like crazy, but not really running a high fever, Julianne offered to go to the store to get some Calamine lotion and some baby Benadryl. When Julianne got back, Grammy and PaPa left, to give you some space to relax. Julianne came up with us to give you a bath and then she lotioned up your feet with Calmoine (which you remembered for the next few days, always saying..."no...Julianne do it" when I tried to put lotion on your feet). You fell asleep quickly and Julianne stuck around for another hour or so to make sure everything was good and then went to visit a friend. I stayed up for a bit longer, waiting to make sure you weren\'t going to wake up. I finally went to bed around 10:30pm. You woke up just before midnight screaming. I ran in to get you and you were burning up. I brought you into our bedroom and grabbed the tylenol and thermometer. You temperature hit about 101 at its highest, but quickly went down after you took the tylenol, but still restless, you didn\'t fall asleep for another hour. I finally got back to sleep around 1:30.\r\n\r\nWe woke up late on Saturday (we were supposed to go with Denielle (our neighbor) to the Farmer\'s Market), and your hands and feet were covered in red dots and you were breaking out a little around your mouth (which wasn\'t unusual, you break out when you eat citrus too).\r\n\r\nThese pictures don\'t do it justice, and I wasn\'t able to get better ones.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nLuckily, I was able to catch Denielle as she was leaving for the market, and as soon as she saw you she immediately knew you had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease.\r\n\r\nHand, foot and what? I came in and immediately google it. Why is Daddy gone right now? :(\r\n\r\nApparently, its the new Chickenpox. It lasts for 7-10 days, starts with a fever and ends with terrible blisters on the hands, feet and mouth, is terribly contagious and it just has to run its course.\r\n\r\nThat morning, you seemed ok, but I quickly realized that you were anything but ok. You couldn\'t eat anything, you had blisters all in your mouth and anything with texture or flavor would hurt your mouth, thankfully, BobBob stopped by with a milkshake and ice cream, which seemed to feel good on your mouth. Not only that, but the blisters on your feet were apparently so painful, that you didn\'t want to walk anywhere, you needed to be carried..."Mommy hurt" was a common phrase for the next few days. Julianne came over to hang out on Saturday afternoon. It was tough that we couldn\'t really do anything out of the house with you, but I think Julianne got more quality time this way.\r\n\r\nYou guys spent alot of time in Big Bear.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nShe left that evening before you went to sleep and it was probably a good thing. You hit a downward spiral around 6pm and it was tough night. We took an oatmeal bath, (thank you Grammy for sending that over for us) to help with the pain of the blisters and I think that helped alot, but I had to run 3 different baths to get the temperature right, anything too warm hurt and anything too cold hurt. I got you all your medicine and we read our nighttime book and you seemed to be good to go to sleep. But 20 mins after putting you down, you were up crying. I went back in and laid with you for an hour and you finally fell asleep, but you were up again around 12am and I brought you into our bed, I was nervous to give you more tylenol without the recommended 4 hours go by, but you were struggling so I gave you half a dose and you fell asleep again around 1am...but as soon as I tried to move you into your bed, you screamed and cried, so you slept with me for most of the night, but of course, you were the only one who slept, because you were moaning and crying most of the time and had to be on me, not next to me, and you were sweating like crazy. I finally got you back into your bed around 5am, but that only lasted until about 6am and then we were up.\r\n\r\nOh wait...I have I forgot to mention, I\'m still sick and Daddy isn\'t here!!!\r\n\r\nYou did wake up in a much better mood, and according to Nanny and Grammy they think the night before had been you breaking your fever. Which makes sense now, although you still didn\'t want to walk all the time and you didn\'t eat you normal breakfast, you DID seem better. Daddy got home right before you nap on Sunday and got to spend some time cuddling with you and reading to you. When you woke up, I got you all dressed up to go over to Grammy and PaPas to celebrate PaPas birthday. (sadly, this is the only picture I got of you in your pretty dress).\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nWe had a nice evening and you seemed to be back to yourself minus the blisters on your hand and feet. You got your bath in Grammys kitchen sink and Julianne helped you get cleaned up and your jammies on, you didn\'t fall asleep on the way home like we thought you would, but it didn\'t take you long once we got home and yay...you slept ALL NIGHT.\r\n\r\nJulianne came over again on Monday of course, and spent all day with you. I think she likes you a little.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nJulianne left on Tuesday and came over to say goodbye, (which was hard for all of us), but you seem to be on the mends, which I know makes everyone happy, although your hands and feet are starting to peel like crazy. Gross!\r\n\r\nWe all love you little girl. We hate seeing you sick, glad this is over!\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
